Wilma Rose McNeill-Pike

Wilma Rose McNeill-Pike, 94,  passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her home in Lima. 

Wilma was born on April 8, 1929, in Ecorse, MI, to the late William and Helen (Schatzinger) Murray.  Wilma was a graduate of Delphos St Johns.  Her first job was as a bank teller at City Loan in Lima. On March 6, 1950, she married her first husband, Herbert J. McNeill who passed away on January 18, 1981.  She then married B. Joe Pike on September 7, 1996, who also preceded her in death on June 29, 2006.  Wilma enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing bridge, doing puzzles, and she was a Cincinnati Reds fan. Her most treasured role in life was loving, caring, and cooking for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she was famous for saying,  “You know where I live”.  She was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society and a lifetime member of the Secular Franciscans, she was also a volunteer for her community.

She is survived by her brother, William Murray, Midland, MI; children: Jacquelyn Logan of Lima, OH, Judy (Don) Brackman of Columbus Grove, OH, Jane McNeill of Lima, OH, Janet (Steve) Rowe of Conroe, TX, and Jerilyn (Thomas) Altenberger of Lake Orion, MI; daughter-in-law Diane McNeill of London, OH; grandchildren:  Oliver (Kelly) Logan, Nathan Logan, Heidi (Jeff) Taris, Jeremy (Tracy) Brackman, Jason (Amy) Brackman, Jared (Sara) Brackman, Kelsey (Brendan) Beyer, Andrea Kingsbery, Ashley (Zachary) Jackson, Andrew (Molly) Kingsbery, Adrian Kingsbery, Audrey (Trae) Holthouse, Alexander Kingsbery, Ariana (Craig) Gutman, Alexandria Kingsbery, Julie (Eric) Salamon, Jennifer (Tyler) Roach, David (Francesca) McNeill, Jessica McNeill, Janelle McNeill, Jill McNeill, Steve (Monica) Rowe Jr., Joe Rowe, Hillary Rowe, Ben (Valerie) Rowe, Garrett (Jessica) Altenberger, and Gretchen Altenberger; great-grandchildren:   Haley & Olivia Logan, Nathan Jr. & Ethan Logan, Levi, Brady & Drew Taris, Liam Brackman, Chase, Luke & Lily Brackman, Miles Brackman, Tyson, Cambrynn, Dexton & Sutton Jackson, Lennon Kingsbery, Hartley & Copeland Holthouse, Adelynn, Leighton, Breelan & Rowan Gutman, Ember McNeill, Steve III, Audrey, Fiona & Kolbe Rowe, Isabella & Penelope Rowe, Ruby Rowe, Estrella & Myles Rowe.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph McNeill and siblings:  Margaret Herbig, Patricia Burnette, John Murray, Nancy Szkolnik, and Karen Cooper.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Gerard Catholic Church with a visitation 1 hour prior to service.  Father Mike Sergi will officiate.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EWTN or Right to Life.
