David John McCormick

David J. McCormick, 83, passed away at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Otterbein Cridersville.

David was born on July 19, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to Edward J. McCormick and Helen (Magaw) Jackson.  On February 9, 1963 he married Patricia Ann (Renner) McCormick who passed away on December 30, 2014.

David was a graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI and attended Henry Ford Community College and University of Idaho.  He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1962, and Reserves through September 1966.  After a career in engineering and management he retired from the Ford Motor Company, and along with his wife owned Mac’s Ski Shop.  David was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ford Retirees Club and Elks Club #54.  He was an avid skier and golfer and volunteer at Churches United Pantry.

He is survived by daughters: Victoria (Joseph) Losito of Olathe, KS and Michelle (Harry) Oxrider of Centerville, OH; grandchildren: Joseph Losito, Maria Losito, Patrick Oxrider, Kevin Oxrider and Ryan Oxrider; and stepmother, Frances (Finch) McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Louis McCormick.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.  Pastor Dan Gutman will officiate.  Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #1275.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Churches United Pantry (CUP) at www.limacup.org.
