Dennis Gibson

Dennis Keith Gibson, 39, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.  Dennis was born on October 2, 1981, in Lima, Ohio, to Jorja A. Gibson and Dennis K. Gillard.

Dennis had a passion for cooking and pursued many jobs involving food.  He loved playing video games and he was a whiz at putting things together.  Dennis enjoyed swimming, fishing, music and the Philadelphia Eagles.

He is survived by his mother; two sons: Eriq Gibson of Lima and Deanju Gibson of Columbus; grandson, Eriq Gibson Jr.; brother, Justin Point; sister, Katina Carr; maternal grandmother, Willa Mae Gibson; special brother, Johnny Plaugher; girlfriend, Lora Bye all of Lima; and special uncle, Gary Gibson of California; as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandfather, Herciel Gibson; paternal grandfather Waydell Shurelds; and paternal grandmother, Ellen Carr.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   A private family funeral service and burial will be held at a later date.  Due to Covid, the family does requests that everyone where masks.
