Doretta Holt

Doretta Holt , 74, passed away on  Wednesday March 23, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Doretta was born on March 2, 1948 in Lima, Ohio, to David H. and Dorothea Mae (Smith) Ervin.  On February 5, 1967 she married Roger Holt, who survives in Lima.

Doretta was a 1966 graduate of Lima Senior High School, and was on the committee for class reunions. She was an active member of Gardendale Church of God, a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital, and a Girl Scout Leader. Doretta was a seamstress, enjoyed crafts, loved her animals and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Gwen (John) Sackinger, Chris Johnson, and Trina (Ed) Williams; grandchildren, Nate (Ashley) , Nickoli (Ashlynn) , Nevin , Ninzi , Nocona and Nevander Sackinger. Allie and Josh Johnson and Mitch Teman ; and great-grandchildren, Forrest, Sean and Toryn; and siblings, John, David and Penney Ervin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Martha Ochier, Mary Davis, and Mike Ervin.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday March 27, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday March 28, 2022         at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Musto will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardendale Church of God.
