Edward Henry Sunderhaus Jr.

Edward H. Sunderhaus Jr., 90, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima.

Edward was born on August 25, 1930, in Lima, OH, to the late Edward Henry, Sr. and Mary (Huber) Sunderhaus.  On July 28, 1951 he married V. Jane (Stalter) Sunderhaus who preceded him in death on February 6, 2014.

Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Textron where he was a machinist.  Edward was a member of St. Gerards and St. Charles Catholic Churches as well as the Eagles Airee #370.  He enjoyed auction sales.

He is survived by his son, Mark Sunderhaus of Lima; daughters: Robin (Todd) Taylor of Cincinnati, Susanna (Richard) Chess of Lima, Mary (Joseph) Burg of Lima and Sara (Martha Mallott) Leifheit of Toledo; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Rita Casey of Lima.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kim Sunderhaus; daughter-in-law, Pam Sunderhaus; grandson, Joseph E. Burg Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica Taylor; siblings: Louie Sunderhaus, Bob Sunderhaus, Bill Sunderhaus, Frank Sunderhaus, Mary Seffernick, Adeline Wiese, Ursula Frueh-Stemen, and Ruth Frueh.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. Gerards Catholic Church.  Father Mike Sergi will officiate.  Burial will be at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.  Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #1275.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church or VFW Post #1275.
