Genevieve F. Karhoff

Genevieve F. Karhoff, 91, passed away at 2:38 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Wyngate Senior Living Center in Lima.  She was born on September 15, 1929, in Ft. Jennings, Ohio, to the late Sylvester and Angeline (Brinkman) Hellman.

Jenny was a graduate of Ft. Jennings High School.  On June 2, 1951 she married Vincent F. Karhoff.   She retired from JC Penney Catalog and Credit Departments. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima and the CLC of Lima, where she was a frequent volunteer.  She was also a volunteer at the Senior Citizen's Center, enjoyed making rosaries and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Vincent; six children:  Marsha Karhoff of Irvine, Ca., Gayle (Dale) Schild of Cincinnati, Sandra (Randy) Bindel of Cridersville, Alan Karhoff of Brecksville, Mary Jo (Kevin) Moots of Lima and Daniel (Deb) Karhoff of Canal Winchester; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Carol) Hellman; sisters, Catherine Warnecke and Eileen (Lou) Schimmoeller; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William and Rose Hellman.  Sisters and brother-in-laws: Emily and Hubert Elwer, Delores and Joseph Ruhe, brother in-law, Meletus Warnecke; twin brothers, Joe and John who died shortly after birth; and one granddaughter.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Wyngate for the loving care they gave Jenny.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Chamberlain - Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at St. Charles Catholic Church.  Fr. Thomas will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic School, Lima.
