Jean G. Thomas, 97, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 6:37 a.m. at Greenwood Village South. She was born on September 22, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and Edna {Fetterolf} Hoffman.

Jean was first married to Clair E. Zimmerman on December 16, 1944. He passed on January 4, 1961. She then married Arthur A. Thomas on February 13, 1965, and he later passed on February 1, 2005.

Jean was a former member of Southside Christian Church in Lima and its Friendly Couples Class. She was also a former member of the Halifax Medical Center Auxiliary, Colony in the Wood Bowling League, and the Riverside Presbyterian Church, all in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was a former member of St. Rita’s Auxiliary in Lima and enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, doing ceramics, crocheting, and she really enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends and family.  Jean had traveled to many countries throughout her years.  At 97 years old she was even active on Facebook.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Zellner of Willard, OH; son, William (Mary) Zimmerman of Indianapolis. IN; grandchildren: Tamara (Kerry) Ford, Jami (Jeff) Hensley, Ami (Larry) Boley, David (Laura) Zimmerman, William (Stacey) Zimmerman, and Timothy (Michelle) Zimmerman; and 10 great-grandchildren: Paige, Chase, Logan, Nathan, Jorja, Leah, Lexa, Zachary, Thomas and Brandon.

In addition to her parents and husbands: Clair and Arthur; she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lori Zimmerman and son-in-law, James Zellner.

Per Jean’s request, there will be no public visitation or services. A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima at a later date.
