Judith Jo Hammer

Judith Jo Hammer, 72, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on March 31, 2022 at her home in Lima. Judi Jo was born on July 27, 1949 in Lima, Ohio, to H. Ralph and Goldie A. (Harshe) Hammer.

Judi Jo grew up on a farm near Cairo.  She had started her career working at a day care center and for a time at the Red Pig Inn in Ottawa.  She retired from Allen County Job and Family Services where she had worked for 23 years.  She was known as Aunt Jo to her family.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth E. Hammer; nephews: Wallace (Cindy) Hammer, Anthony (Missy Fagan) Hammer and Trent (Jeny) Hammer; niece, Tobi Ann (Ronald) Meyer; many great-nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Kasey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles “Tack” Hammer.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.  Pastor David Glick will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
