Kenneth L. (Sr.) Sneary

Kenneth L. Sneary Sr., 65, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

Kenneth was born on May 25, 1957 in Lima, OH, to Gaylord and Madeline (Fowler) Sneary.  On August 20, 1977 he married Judy (Nichols) Sneary, who survives in Lima.

Kenneth was a 1975 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School.  He retired from Conrail Railroad.  He was formerly a firefighter & EMT for Perry Fire Department and also an Elida police officer.  Kenneth was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed playing poker and cards as well as hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Sneary II of Lima; daughter, Krystal K. Sneary of Elida; special “adopted” grandchildren, Vivian and Abram any many more; brothers, Steven (Debbie) Sneary of Biloxi, MS and Rick Sneary of Harrod, OH; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Sneary; and sister, Vicki Sneary.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio and one hour prior to service on Sunday.  The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022.  Rev. Justin Shoup will officiate.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
