Larry David McKee

Larry David McKee, 68, of Lima, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on October 14, 1949 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late Lewis Mckee and Audrey Griffith. On January 1, 1999 he married Robin {James} Mckee who survives in Lima.

Larry was a graduate of Elida High School class of 1967. He was in the US Marines and served in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. Larry coached the Lima Packers Midget Football as well as the YMCA Youth Baseball teams. He was a member of the Lima Senior Band Boosters and the past VP of the Hoover Park Neighborhood Association. He was also a member of Lima’s Neighborhood Care Academy 2012 and the American Legion Post #96. Larry loved shopping at Lowes and Wal-Mart for what he didn’t need and talking to everyone for ‘hours’, mostly about his “well loved, not spoiled” Weiner dog Ginger.

He is survived by his wife, children Heather McKee Everett, James Mckee, Larry Crowe, son of the heart Larry Jr. Conine, grandchildren Briana McClurg, Doris Blevins, Michelle Scott, Charlie McClurg, Seana Everett, Teagan Everett, Jacen Everett, and Larry Crowe II, brothers Rick McKee Sr., Johnny (Melissa) Thomas, Brian Thomas, Berndt (Babs) Schuster, and Lewis (Brenda) McKee, sisters Esther (Tony) Dunlap, Sandy Thomas, Patty Thomas, and Jeneva Mckee Willoughby.

Larry was preceded in death by his step-sons Sean Crider and Rick McClurg, sister Joyce Hayes, brother Bobby McKee Sr., and step-father John Thomas.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OH. A funeral service will be on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
