Margaret Jean Heil

September 22, 1931 — March 4, 2021

Daytona Beach, FL

It is a sadness deeply etched in our hearts that we announce that our amazing mother, Margaret (Peg) Heil passed away on March 4, 2021.   Peg Heil was born on September 22, 1931 in Lima, Ohio – youngest daughter of Gary and Chole Phillips.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband- Carl (2016) after 67 years of marriage In Lima and her son Phillip who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2017.  Survived by her daughters, Anita (& Jay Gallentine) and Brenda (& Scott Ransom), grandchildren Carl “Bo” Heil and Brittany Ransom, and great grandchildren Amber Heil and Jade Davis and many other members of her loving family.

A 1949 graduate of Lima Central High School she was quite talented....a former high school majorette, a member of the band and a beautiful soloist who loved music and believed in enjoying life to the fullest.  She was active in the Lima community until she permanently moved to Daytona Beach several years ago. Well known from her years working at Sears, a member of Central Church of Christ and the Trinity Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Gomer Congressional Christian Church, everyone knew her family was always first.   She managed to squeeze in time to also enjoy fishing, dancing, playing games, knitting, and working the antique division at the Allen County fair for many years.  Seeing Peg at the Kewpee was not an unusual sighting and pure enjoyment.

In her last moments she did what she could to give all a lasting peace and as she opened her eyes and focused on something or someone at the foot of her bed, she smiled as if greeting or recognizing a loved one and let out her last breath several days later.  Mom...we know you were smiling because you were being taken by the hand of God to Carl and Phil and others you have loved.

She will be privately interred at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima Ohio.  Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home will attend to final arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed at www.chamberlainhuckeriede.com .
