Mary Louise Bryan

Mary Louise Bryan passed away May 14, 2022 at home, surrounded by her children, after an extended illness from Covid complications.

She was born May 20, 1932 to Walter L. and Mary M. (Auer) Stippich who preceded her in death.  In 1958 she married Russell E. Bryan, who died August 5, 2003.

Mrs. Bryan graduated from St. Gerard High School in 1950 and was a member of the parish since 1936.  She was a homemaker and a volunteer worker for over 42 years at St. Gerard School cafeteria and also the church.  She spent 39 years as a Poll Worker.  She is a member of St. Gerard Altar & Rosary Society, Auxiliary 370 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and National Association of Federal Employees Chapter 317.  She loved exercising.  Working in her yard among her flowers was a joy.  Reading was a passion!

Survivors include three sons: David (Midge) Bryan, John Bryan  and Edward (Fawn) Bryan; six daughters: Mary (Dan) Sidener, Christine (Jerry Meyer) Daley, Karen (Dennis) Purdy, Kathleen (John) Traina, Theresa (Bruce) Hoffman, and Laura Moye'; sister, Carol Conte; twenty-one grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: James, Norbert, Walter Jr. and Paul Stippich; a sister, Julia Ryan; sisters-in-law: Patricia, Vera and Edna Stippich; son-in-law, David “Pete” Daley; and grandson, David Purdy.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at St. Gerard Catholic Church.  Father Paul Mathew will officiate.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
