Michael P. Schroeder

Michael P. Schroeder, 77, passed away at 10:11 p.m. on December 16, 2021, at Vancrest of Ada.

Mike was born on March 31, 1944 in Lima, Ohio, to Linus and Genevieve (Oglesbee) Schroeder.  On August 13, 1966 he married Shanda L. (Shirey) Schroeder, who survives in Lima.

Mike was retired from Crouse Lumber Company.  He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a Past Exalted Ruler BPOE #54, Lima.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan,

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Bret (Julie) Schroeder; daughters: Staci (Mike) Sims, Michele (Kevin) Kroeger, Holly (David) Taylor and Amber (Jamie) Sizemore; special daughter Melanie (Franz) Troppenhagen; grandchildren: Courtney (Cody) Hill, Hannah Taylor, Brittany (Andrew) Gleason, Abigail Kroeger, Austin (Melanie) Sizemore, Grace Sims and Noah Sims; great-grandchildren, Ryan Hill and Isabelle Sizemore; brothers, Stan (Judy) Schroeder and Leroy (Terri) Schroeder; sisters, Carolyn (Jim)  Holl and Judy Birkemeier; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Jim & Ruth Shirey.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. Charles Catholic Church.  Father Kent Kaufman will officiate.  Burial will occur at a later date at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
