Phillip Lee Colley

Phillip Lee Colley, 69, passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.

Phil was born on February 1, 1954 in Marion, Ohio, to Walter and Mary (Waits) Colley.  On August 16, 1997 he married his love, Kathleen (Miller) Colley, who survives in Lima.

After graduating from the Marion Harding High School, Phil served in the U.S. Air Force.  He then went on to work at the Department of Rehab & Corrections in Marion, Lima, and Allen County.  He enjoyed golfing, camping, and fishing.  Phil was an avid OSU fan and Jacksonville Jaguars fan.  He dearly loved his dog, Nala.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, David (Dina) Schmidt of Jacksonville, FL and Kerri (Tim) Murphy of Waynesfield, OH; grandchildren: Evan Humes, Taylor O’Grady, Megan Schmidt, Heaven (Cameron Kaiser) Luckadoo, Gabe Murphy, and Kevin Patterson; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Humes and Lylah Patterson; brothers, Donald Colley of Marion, OH and Steven Colley of Columbus, OH; sisters: Vickie (Steve) Smith of Marion, OH, Jackie Craig of Helena, OH, and Tina Colley of Arizona; brothers-in-law: Chuck (Sandy) Miller of Ansonia, OH, Mark (Deb) Miller of Lima, OH, and Tim (Melisa) Miller of Elida, OH; sister-in-law, Lisa (Hal) Brockman of Lima, OH; special sisters-in-law, Mary Bice and Elaine Lewis; and special nieces and nephews: Brooke (Cody) Burklund, Halle (Caleb Grundisch) Brockman, Kurt (Jessica Blair) Dick, and Kyle Dick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Edwin Miller and Kevin Miller; niece, Crystal Moore; and aunt, Ilena Edmunds.

A Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m.  on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Lima, Ohio.  Pastor Chris Page will officiate.  Friends may visit from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the church and one hour prior to service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
