Shirley G. Turner

Shirley G. Turner , 85, passed away on March 9, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Shirley was born on July 7, 1936 in Lima, Ohio, to Oliver and Geneva (Timbers) Tyre.  On November 29, 1955 she married Richard Turner, who survives in Lima, Ohio.

Shirley was a Central High graduate of 1954. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and attended the YMCA. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends as well as relaxing at the river home, entertaining and cooking.

Along with her husband she is survived by her children Robin (Vernon) Rodgers of Amherst, Ohio, and son Rick Turner of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Shawn Turner, Cameron Rodgers, Briana Rodgers, and Jackson Turner, and 1 Great grandchild, Skyler Rodgers.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Byron, Edsel, Bill and Oliver Tyre; and sisters Doris Harsche and Bertha Tyre.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.  Pastor Gary Copeland will officiate.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church.
