Vera was a licensed massage therapist, reflexologist, iridologist and “healer of many." She lived her life to the fullest with a feisty spirit, contagious energy and a smile for everyone. She loved to dance and was always the first and last on the dance floor, outlasting everyone including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, nature lover and always up for a walk in the woods. Vera loved spending time with family and friends whether it was at the cabin in their woods or their camp in PA. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, picture puzzles, reading and researching articles on health and exercise and loved to shovel her own snow. Vera was often seen at Bob Evans enjoying coffee and breakfast with family and friends. She enthusiastically watched sports on TV while communicating with her children on the phone. Vera loved to play the piano with her favorite songs being “How Great Thou Art” and the” Old Rugged Cross.” She loved playing a special family card game “Hollywood Rummy" into the wee hours of the morning. Vera spent many hours sharing stories of family history with her children and grandchildren.

Vera, Hank and their four young children moved to South Africa with the Ford Motor Company in 1964 - 1965, where she developed even more lifelong friendships.

Vera was a member of the Catholic Church, Eagles 370, VFW 1275 and Knights of Columbus. Vera and her beloved husband Hank hosted years of annual picnics on their wooded property for the Ford Motor Company, Allen County Diabetes League and Knights of Columbus at their prior home on St. Rt. 81 that built lasting memories for many in the Lima area. Hank and Vera’s home was always open for spontaneous bonfires, ice skating, snowmobiling, hayrides, cheerleading practices and the “Hog Creek Chargers" football games. Vera was everybody’s mom, a great listener and open to endless conversations.

A small private service was held for immediate family. A “Celebration of Life" will be held later this year.
